Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection, or inhalation.
Start patient IVs.
Explain imaging procedures to patients, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort.
Position patients appropriately for scanning.
Technical Duties:
Conduct NM studies such as Nuclear Stress Tests, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung Scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans.
Prepare facilities according to procedural requirements and calibrate equipment as needed.
Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals used, received, and disposed of per physician’s prescriptions.
Perform computer processing and imaging enhancement.
Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
Quality Control:
Monitor the department's daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control (QC) under NRC guidelines. Ensure compliance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
Collaboration:
Work in an environment that prioritizes exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork.
Collaborate with a supportive management team.
Utilize EPIC for documentation and communication.
Qualifications
Education and Certification:
Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine through NMTCB or ARRT.
Basic bhires card card? oh sorry - Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
Experience:
Training and experience in conducting various NM studies, including Nuclear Stress Tests, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung Scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans.
Skills:
Strong technical skills in preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and operating NM equipment.
Excellent patient care skills, including the ability to explain procedures and ensure patient comfort.
Proficiency in computer processing and imaging enhancement.
Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards.
Exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
