Kimley-Horn’s Austin, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit design projects with a particular focus on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
Tasks include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation.
Requires a high degree of multidisciplinary coordination.
Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
Qualifications
Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
4+ years of transit‑focused engineering experience, including:
Transit corridor design experience, focusing on BRT and LRT modes
Track/guideway design
Roadway design
Station design, including park‑and‑ride facilities
Outgoing, self‑motivated team player
High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience communicating and working with clients
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and detail‑orientation
Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
