Position Summary American Indian Student Services (AISS) is seekingcandidates for Residential Advisors for the 2026 American Indian Summer Bridge(AISB) Program. The AISB Program is designedto immerse incoming American Indian/Indigenous students into the rigors ofcollege life while providing academic, financial, and social preparation forthe first-year university experience. AISB will consist of a three-weekimmersion session allowing participating students to earn up to 3 college credithours while strengthening time management and study skills. ResidentialAdvisors will support incoming first-year American Indian/Indigenous students’successful transition into college. The successful candidateswill serve as mentors and provide supervision for the duration of theprogram. Under the guidance of the AISB Program Coordinator, the ResidentialAdvisors have primary responsibility for providing tutoring support services;living on campus with AISB participants; planning and supervising all activities(including evenings and weekends); transporting students to all scheduledevents; conducting small group discussions on a variety of topics relevant tocollege life; and other duties as assigned. Residential Advisors receiveextensive training prior to the start of the session – in-person attendance ismandatory and non-negotiable. Residential Advisors are expected to demonstrate highlevels of responsibility, project an attitude of commitment and sensitivity toeach individual student, and demonstrate an awareness of intersectingidentities. Must be ableto differentiate learning styles and work effectively with AISB students andfaculty, and AISB & AISS staff. Residential Advisors will work an averageof 35-40 hours per week.
Salary $14.00 per hour

Weekday meals (only during the three-week session) – Total Approx. Value = $752.67
On-campus housing from June 1 to July 13, 2026 – Total Approx. Value = $627
Term of Employment June 1, 2026 to July 24, 2026

Preferred Qualifications
Applicant must have completed a minimum of one academic year (two full semesters with a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester) at UNM-Main Campus by the end of Spring 2026.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License. If selected, you are required to submit a copy of your Driver’s License.
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Minimum required work hours:
Must be available from June 1, 2026 – July 24, 2026.
Training: Monday, June 1, 2026 – Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Weekly 1-hour meetings with AISB Coordinator for duration of AISB.
Additional tasks and hours, as assigned.

Previous AISB RA or participant experience desired.
