Temporary Position: Housekeeper

Position Summary The employee(s) will serve as part of a temporary pool of reserve housekeepers for UNC Asheville. Responsibilities may include:
General cleaning services (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting)
Emptying trash, sweeping, mopping
Cleaning restrooms, windows, and doors daily
Using a building checklist and maintaining housekeeping equipment
Reporting problems daily
Using automated cleaning equipment and commercial cleaning chemicals
Following virus‑mitigation protocols to maintain a healthy environment
Qualifications Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some knowledge of cleaning procedures and the ability to perform medium to heavy physical work is required.
Preferred candidate will have a valid driver’s license, be a high school graduate, and possess prior experience in cleaning of public buildings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and supplies
Ability to communicate with coworkers and respond to customer needs promptly
Ability to listen and follow dispenser directions to properly mix cleaning chemicals
Work Schedule Hours per week and days are defined by the hiring department and based on departmental needs.
