TopSide Marinas
The Fuel Dock Attendant’s responsibility is to provide retail service to customers at the marina fuel dock.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide immediate assistance to customers arriving at the fuel dock with re-fueling boats and fuel cans. Provide absorbent materials as necessary. Confirm fuel type requested
Understand and adhere to OSHA and environmental regulations regarding spillage, clean up, fuel transport, etc
Provide immediate assistance with docking/securing customer boats arriving for re-fueling at the fuel dock. Ensure proper care and safety to customers and property while securing and releasing dock lines and otherwise assisting customer’s arrival/departure from the fuel dock
Regularly monitor fuel levels for gas and diesel supply tanks to ensure continuous supply. Informs General Manager of fuel supply for re-order
Perform regular general clean-up/maintenance of fuel dock: fuel hoses properly stored and ready for use, dock clear of debris and unnecessary items and equipment, trash emptied on a regular basis, and trash disposed of in accordance with environmental and OSHA regulations
Ensure daily fuel dock safety checks are performed at the beginning of the day prior to opening
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
Fuel attendant experience (preferably marina/fuel dock) preferred
Must be age 18 or older
Boat knowledge (especially proper docking/tie up for power and sailboats) preferred
Ability to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings.
Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
Maintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all times
Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
Math computation skills
Strong work ethic and personal commitment
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
