Credit Underwriter - Distribution Finance
Join Huntington Commercial Bank in analyzing and monitoring credit worthiness of assigned customers/accounts and recommending or approving credit within established guidelines. Includes analyzing financial statements, completing ratio and trend analysis to determine eligibility for financing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Underwrite high quality credit narratives for new and existing loans, reviewing applications, financial statements, balance sheets, D&B reports, etc.
Spread business financial statements and tax returns using Moody's software to analyze multi-year trends and ratios.
Understand cash flow from operations, identifying recurring and non-recurring sources.
Research industry trends and risks.
Perform collateral analysis including accounts receivable, inventory, real estate and investments.
Run credit reports and gather/analyze KYC information.
Spread personal financial statements and tax returns for individual guarantors, develop borrower and guarantor global cash flow analysis.
Collaborate with other areas to monitor delinquency, delinquency trends and repossession activity.
Conduct annual financial statement follow-ups to borrowers and track receipt by the bank.
Prepare written recommendations on loan approval and provide alternate loan structure recommendations.
Present to loan committee for approvals and communicate decisions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
3+ years wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience and prior credit approval authority.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Detail oriented with ability to analyze cash flow, leverage and gauge customer strength; experience with deals ranging from $2M to $10M preferred.
Experience lending to a wide variety of industries, loan types and company sizes preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to make sound business judgments while protecting the interests of the bank.
Strong technical skills.
Employment Details Exempt Status : Yes (not eligible for overtime pay)
Workplace Type : Office, with flexible work arrangements for positions outside the branch network.

Compensation $63,000 – $124,000 annual salary. Final compensation will vary based on location, experience, and performance. Additional incentive compensation plans and benefits include health insurance, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave, PTO, holidays.
