фикс Job Summary Responsible for duties that support departmental efficiencies including scheduling, registration, patient pre‑admission, admission, reception, and discharge. Obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information. Employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during, and after the date of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greeting patients following Conifer Standards of Care, providing world‑class customer service, completing full patient registration at the date of service, adhering to financial and cash control policies, and explaining and securing Hospital and patient legal forms (Advance Directives, Conditions of Services, Consent for treatment, Important Message from Medicare, EMTALA, etc.). Scan PHI, create and file patient information packets for upcoming Hospital services. Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and other tasks as needed.

Educate patients about financial liabilities and employ proper, compliant collection techniques before, during, and after service, perform Hospital cash reconciliation, and secure payment entry in adherence to policies.

Secure medical necessity checks/verification per CMS, verify insurance and eligibility, complete registration financial clearance tributes, obtain authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled services, and notify payors of inpatient visits. Assist with scheduling and coordinating post‑discharge care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Typing skills of 35 wpm minimum.

Working knowledge of PC.

Knowledge of hospital environment relationships preferred.

Customer service skills.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong oral and written communication.

Understanding of third‑party payor requirements (preferred).

Understanding of compliance standards (preferred).

Ability to perform duties in at least two Patient Access service areas, including Emergency Department.

Negotiation techniques for collecting money owed.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external clients.

Interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards while maintaining Conifer Standards of Care.

Education / Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.

0–1 year in a Customer Service role.

0–1 year administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred.

Some college coursework preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Resolve physician and patient issues; may encounter extreme patient volumes and uncooperative patients.

Occasionally lift/carry items up to 25 lbs.

Frequent prolonged standing, sitting, and walking.

Occasionally push a wheelchair.

Work Environment

Hospital administration setting.

May work in patient care locations with potential exposure to life‑threatening conditions.

Other

Must be available to work hours and days as needed based on departmental/system demands.
