Responsibilities
Installs, operates, repairs and maintains heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems throughout the medical center and various outreach facilities. Makes repairs to mechanical systems including basic plumbing and HVAC equipment.
Coordinates with team members and co‑workers in order to successfully complete projects and work orders in a timely manner.
Determines the causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems to identify necessary repairs and/or replacement needs.
Manufactures equipment parts to meet specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
Examines HVAC systems and their parts including heating units, exhaust fans and ventilation units to see what needs to be repaired and to perform preventative maintenance.
Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.
Takes part in workshops, trainings, and meetings to share and gather information about the essential job functions.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance as needed to maintain the HVAC systems.
Repairs heating and air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable and safe work environment.
Requests equipment to maintain inventory and guarantee the necessary supplies are available to install or repair parts Nivel.
Responds to emergency situations when needed in order to alleviate an emergency situation.
Maintains a safe work atmosphere and ensures the safe use of all equipment.
May be accountable for supervisory responsibilities when needed, typically defers to the maintenance supervisor.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
3 years as a HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic
License Requirements:
State of Maryland Journeyman HVACR License or at least 7 years of HVAC experience AND a State of Maryland Apprentice HVACR License
Valid driver's license
Certification Requirements:
CFC Recovery Certificate
