Clinic based general cardiology Nurse Practitioner for Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist
We are seeking a clinic بىbased Nurse Practitioner to join Tanner Health’s General Cardiology service. The APP will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other advanced practice providers, reporting to the Director of Practice Operations. The role includes weekly clinic work and one weekend of inpatient coverage every eighth week, with two weekdays off during inpatient coverage.
Job Summary The APP will provide comprehensive cardiac care in the clinic, manage general cardiology patients, and clear surgical consults. Responsibilities include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic cardiac conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (lab work and imaging studies), and providing education and counseling. The APP will maintain medical records via EPIC EMR and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Position Requirements
?', Monday–Friday clinic schedule.
One weekend inpatient rounding per 8 weeks, working with additional APPs and physicians.
Two weekdays off during inpatient coverage.
No call responsibilities.
Job Eligibility Requirements Education
Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner.
Certification/License
Current Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
Board certification as Nurse Practitioner.
Experience
At least 1 year of general medicine or cardiology‑specific experience.
Qualifications
Effective communication with medical and hospital staff and diverse patient populations.
ACLS certification recommended.
Additional specialty certifications (e.g., PALS) may be required for certain responsibilities.
Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Capable of interacting tactfully and effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
Meets credentialing criteria.
Demonstrates the cognitive ability to understand and communicate medical records, physician orders, and patient instructions.
Works in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
Prior experience in a similar specialty preferred.
