This VoIP & Network Specialist "Installation and Repair Technician" is an advanced-level IT Generalist. This installation and repair technician is a broad and deep resource responsible for the Professional Delivery and Support of all Dobson Connect Services and providing technical support for customer environments, including networking infrastructure and VoIP systems, security access controls, data networking, backup/DR, etc. This critical role is accountable to the other team members for promptly delivering services that meet clients’ technical requirements. The Technician also requires personal and administrative skills such asKodi self-motivation, initiative, time management, prioritization, multi-tasking, project assessment, scoping, estimation, time allocation/tracking, documentation, communication, testing, and solution deployment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support for Dobson Connect deployments

Responsible for provisioning Dobson Connect unified communications solutions

Responsible for site surveys to validate customers' network readiness for Dobson Connect solutionsMust

Provides advanced technical support for various data networks, including configuration, performance, and security

Provides technical support for Dobson Connect customers

Ensures change control and other processes & procedures are followed

Ensures that configuration documentation is completed when systems are deployed or modified

Perform project assessments, scoping, and cost estimates

Work in a technical resource capacity with sales teams for potential clients as required

REQUIREMENTS

Advanced/incidence level knowledge of the following:

Insensitive forms [sic] knowledge of operating systems such as Windows vů Linux, iOS and Android TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RAS, VPN, routing protocols, etc.)

Network concepts and functional working skills with various network technologies (create a vLAN, create a static route, diagnose routing problems, configure ports, create VPN, etc.)

Advanced understanding of OS and Network security best practices and strategies

Analytical and process-oriented approach to issues and assigned tasks

Advanced level diagnostic methods and skills in a variety of environments

Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Install fiber optic cables and equipment in business settings, ensuring proper connections and signal quality.

Perform site surveys to determine the best installation practices and identify any potential obstacles.

Configure and test fiber optic equipment, including routers, modems, and optical network terminals (ONTs).

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fiber optic installations, including signal loss, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions.

Educate customers on the use and maintenance of installed fiber optic systems and provide excellent customer service.

Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and maintenance activities.

Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.

Stay up to date with advancements in fiber optic technology and installation techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Technology infrastructure support

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent training and experience preferred

The following certifications are relevant but not necessarily required for this position: MCA/MCM, MCSE, CCNA/CCIE/CISSP, EMCDA/EMCCA/EMCTA

Must be able to provide a valid driver’s license and auto insurance and maintain a satisfactory driving record

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

TRAVEL NECESSARY based on location(s) supported.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Depending on the assigned area, usually outdoor, warehouse, or construction environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, sto intrigued, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enables the use of machinery and equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enables interpersonal communication and communication through automated devices like the telephone. Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to equipment and machinery use.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS Each employee is responsible for his/her own safety. No task should be completed unless it can be completed safely. Employees will:

Comply with all company safety programs, rules, regulations, procedures, and instructions applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.

Serial within: avoid safe. Remarks: this line ensures safety conditions. Refrain from any unsafe act that might endanger him/herself or fellow workers.

Obey all posted company, state, and federal hazard and traffic safety signs.

Use all safety devices and personal protective equipment provided for their protection.

Report all hazards, incidents, and near-miss occurrences to their immediate supervisor or Director of Safety within 2 hours, even if no injury or property damage occurred.

Promptly report all injuries and suspected work-related illnesses, however slight, to his/her immediate supervisor or Director of Safety.

Employees who drive company vehicles must possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license for driving the vehicle, and employees who operate company equipment must be trained and authorized.

Employees operating company vehicles and equipment must comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Seat belt use is required while operating any company vehicle or equipment.

Texting while driving is prohibited by Dobson Fiber policy and State Law.

Participate in safety committee meetings, training sessions, and surveys as requested and provide input into improving safety.

Notify your supervisor or Human Resources immediately of any change in physical or mental condition or use of prescription drugs or illegal drugs that would affect the employee’s job performance or the safety of him/herself or others.

Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited at any company facility, workplace, worksite, or when operating any company vehicle or equipment. Any employee, contractor, or subcontractor who works or reports to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination of employment or loss of contract.

Notify the Human Resources Director within five days of serious driving, drug/alcohol, or criminal convictions.

Be a safe worker on and off the job.
