Responsibilities
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are dana to meet the needs of youth ages 7‑17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric, and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE®‑approved and certified facility.

Position Scope : Serves as a role model for Objective to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors. Ensures environment remains safe and normative culture remains positive throughout facility. Contributes to formulation, implementation, and revision of the resident individual treatment plan.
Essential Functions
Implements program to help residents learn acceptable behaviors.
Supervises residents attainment of treatment goals.
Maintains positive normative culture.
Utilizes established mechanisms to enhance communication.
Assists in staffing needs of the facility.
Adheres to all supervision and accountability of unit staff.
Assists with the supervision and accountability of unit staff.
Ensures the coordination and completion of all documentation related to resident care.
Qualifications Licensure/Certification/Registration
HWC, CPR and First Aid Required.
Education/Experience
High school education required.
Bachelor’s minimum or a certificate from a trade school in nursing would be more appropriate with the need to have familiarity with medical terminology.
Secretarial or clerical training in a hospital setting preferred.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
General Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of konzbehavioral Health & Developmental Services.
Must have patience, tact, andBuckets cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the Englishdjango language.
Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.
Requires secretarial skills, organizational ability and verbal communicative skills; some knowledge of medical terminology.
