Responsibilities
Dispatcher: Handle emergency and non‑emergency communications, monitor radio frequencies, coordinate dispatches of police, fire, safety, emergency aid, and other resources, use CAD to record incidents, assign officers, track calls, and document actions, operate telephone system, dispatch parking enforcement and other personnel.
Dispatch Office Manager: Oversee equipment maintenance, monitor alarm and other systems, check out and inventory keys, complete lost and found reports, operate multi‑line telephone system, monitor department lobby, maintain key check‑in/check‑out procedures, coordinate vendor and work order maintenance.
Information and Data Retrieval Specialist: Operate MULES/NCIC computer system, retrieve and enter information from federal, state, local, and university databases, stay current with technology changes and software capabilities.
Mass Communications Operator: Initiate and manage emergency siren, alert system, send mass text messages and email alerts as needed, manage public address and siren systems.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 year police dispatch experience preferred.
MULES certification preferred.
