Rotational Floor Care Technician, Maniilaq Health Association $21.50/HR - 3x3 Rotation - Kotzebue, AK (Housing provided, Meals not provided)

The Floor Care Technician position provides a broad variety of cleaning projects and services required to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of various commercial/industrial facilities, including the Maniilaq Health Association. This is a rotational position working in Kotzebue, AK, with a 3‑week on / 3‑week off schedule. Minimum of 12‑hour workdays, total 84 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains a wide variety of floors using specialized professional cleaning methods.

Completes tasks such as floor stripping, waxing, floor buffing, and heavy‑duty carpet cleaning.

Works effectively around harsh chemicals, strippers, wax, and baseboard cleaners (proper PPE and training provided).

Removes trash from various departments and disposes of it in appropriate areas.

May clean, stock, sweep, mop, sanitize, or vacuum offices, public areas, hallways, stairs, lobbies, closets, copy rooms, or other work areas as assigned.

May assist in laundry and/or linen removal.

Promotes and adheres to strict safety guidelines, utilizing proactive methods.

Uses proper PPE (gloves, safety glasses, or face masks) while using cleaning solutions and chemicals.

Other duties that support the department's success may also be assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

One (1) year of experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment, and intermediate knowledge of corporate safety programs.

Ability to use a variety of floor care equipment, extractors, riding extractors, floor scrubbers, auto scrubbers, etc.

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and callouts.

Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Preferred Requirements

Five (5) years of documented floor care technician experience.

Experience with floor stripping & waxing.
