The Town is seeking applicants for Seasonal Public Works Crew. Ideally, the position would be for 6 months. The position is Monday-Friday 7am-4pm and pay starts at $20.33 per hour.

Essential Functions
Operates equipment safely and effectively for a variety of routine manual labor duties involving grounds maintenance, using standard hand tools, mowers, minor maintenance of streets, catch basins, canals, right-of-ways, and other public works projects.
Performs maintenance of public right-of-ways (ROW)
Performs maintenance of facilities; Town Hall, Community Center, Public Works Building and other assigned areas
Occasionally performs vehicle and/or equipment maintenance activities.

Responds to emergency activities throughout the Town.
Responds to citizen requests and complaints.
Performs other duties or special projects, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities General knowledge of the use of common hand and specialized power tools; general knowledge of the safe use, operation and preventative maintenance of equipment used in landscaping grounds maintenance; ability to perform labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Requirements Education and Experience A high school diploma or GED and minimal experience in grounds maintenance including the operation of motorized equipment.
Physical Requirements This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting, frequently requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and occasionally requires sitting, speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing and repetitive motions; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arm's length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to vibration, frequently requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to the risk of electrical shock and occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather); work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
