Full‑time, 4x10 shift, rotating Saturday – Austin, TX
Thrive Austin East 7th, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our community. We offer the support, tools, and resources to elevate your skills in a hospital rooted in the local community with national resources.
Description As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in pets’ lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey, from outpatient treatments and laboratory tests to surgery assistance and support services.
About You We are seeking a dedicated professional that can deliver hands‑on care and support the veterinary team.
Experience & Skills Requirements
Veterinary technician licensure preferred
1–2 years of clinical experience
Must have surgical, anesthesia, and dental experience
Role Responsibilities
Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
About the Hospital Thrive Austin East offers primary care for dogs and cats in south and central Austin. We are open Monday‑Saturday 8 AM–6 PM.
