Respiratory Therapist for PFT's

Position Summary
To evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Practicing under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Therapy, the RT will assume primary responsibility for all Pulmonary Function tests and, as needed, help with critical care in the hospital/ER.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to all organization policies, including job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and patients’ rightsENAME.
Actively engage with the organization’s communications and directives.
Set up and operate various equipment used for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease.
Obtain, analyze, and advise on arterial blood gas results.
Perform and/or assist with intubation, ventilator management, BIPAP/non‑invasive ventilation set‑up and management, nebulizer treatments, MDI therapy, chest physiotherapy, PEP therapy, flutter valve therapy, and various modes of oxygen therapy.
Conduct pulmonary function tests and develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians and the health care team.
Administer treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, monitoring vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and directing treatments provided by nursing staff.
Evaluate the effects of the respiratory therapy treatment plan and recommend adjustments.
Provide COPD or asthma education as needed; deliver education in inpatient, SWB, and outpatient settings.
Participate in discharge planning and patient care conferences.
Instruct patients and caregivers in home exercise programs and recommend outpatient or home health follow‑up.
Document patient care services by charting on patient and department records.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Adhere to infection‑control policies and protocols.
Ensure equipment operation by meeting preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
Maintain professional knowledge by engaging in educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Function independently in all areas of responsibility.
Respond to all code emergencies hospital‑wide and in outpatient settings.
Provide education to patients and families about the use of respiratory equipment.
Serve as a resource for nurses,inue and other staff.
Participate actively in departmental in‑service and education programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program; RRT and/or CRT preferred. Candidates grandfathered under state licensure will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.
默licensure: Active license in good standing in the State of Oklahoma. Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required or ability to obtain.
Experience Required Two years of active respiratory care, including কার্যা experience with a PFT machine. Prefer 2 years of critical care experience; willing to train the right candidate.
Working Conditions
During a 12‑hour shift, the employee may frequently or continuously be on their feet, walking, or standing.
Occasionally shift, lift, and transfer a minimum of 50 lbs, applying a minimum of 60 lbs of push/pull force.
Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, reaching above shoulder height, and pushing/pulling.
Possess enough visual acuity to read fine print from articles, computer printouts, physician notes, insurance cards, and documents.
Communicate clearly and distinctly to patients, employees, physicians, and the public.
