Indiana Fever Athletic Trainer & Physical Therapist
Indiana Fever Athletic Trainer & Physical Therapist role at Pacers Sports & Entertainment. Provide professional athletic training and physical therapy for Indiana Fever players. Prevent, diagnose, treat, rehabilitate injuries and illnesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide clinical care under senior director: initial examination, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injuries.
Assist in planning and execution of pre-season and in-season screening, testing, and examination.
Offer care to Fever players, coaching staff, and support staff.
Help identify individual clinical treatment and rehabilitation strategies with goals, prognosis, and timelines.
Serve as bridge between athletic training room and weight room to ensure continuity of care.
Coordinate scheduling of sports medicine and basketball-related activities and physicals.
Order, stock, and pack medical supplies.
Maintain cleanliness of training area, prep room, and basketball courts.
Assist in day‑to‑day operations of Sports Medicine department.
Maintain state licensure and certification as an athletic trainer and physical therapist.
Follow WNBA standards, protocols, clinical documentation, and HIPAA confidentiality.
Work flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel.
Align with PS&E mission and core values; participate in community outreach.
Assist in other assigned areas.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required.
At least three years of relevant experience.
Qualified to obtain both athletic trainer and physical therapist license in Indiana.
NATA certified athletic trainer.
Valid driver’s license.
Maintain annual or biannual CPR/AED training as required by state, NBA, WNBA, G‑League, NATA.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and general data entry; ability to learn new systems.
Strong communication skills: effectively present information and respond to questions from players, coaches, front office, executives, agents, and family.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, stoop/crouch, use computer.
Work flexible schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel.
Noise level in office moderate; fieldhouse/game loud.
High stress at times of season.
