Responsibilities

Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment

Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications

Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment including installation and maintenance of variable speed motors

Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment

Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments

Accurately completing all required documentation

All other duties assigned by Management

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be able to clearly communicate in the English Language (read and write)

Must possess a Journeyman Electrical License that can be transferred to State of Alaska within six (6) months of employment

Must be able to work independently

Must have good documentation and organizational skills

Must be able to respond to calls for work outside of normal working hours

Knowledge of acceptable practices of occupational safety and health regulations

Experience and proficiency in reading and understanding wiring schematics, machine and equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and blueprints

Occasional duties will include assisting and performing general electrical maintenance

Must be able to perform work at heights, for example use of a bucket truck

Other relevant duties assigned by Management

Preferred

Five (5) years' experience in the field as an Electrician

Experience with Allen-Bradley (CompactLogix and SLC500), PLCs, PanelView Plus HMIs

Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet, DH+, etc.)

Experience with FactoryTalk programs

Strong mechanical aptitude

Fire alarm system electrical maintenance

Commercial Driver's License Class (B)

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Having reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity and must be able to have access to military installations.

Must be able to drive a company vehicle and be insured

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance necessary

Must comply with all company policies

WORK ENVIRONMENT Environments will include a variety of working conditions performed in an outside setting or in mechanic spaces with exposure to extremes for heat and cold. Work environments include, but are not limited to, multiple types of housing units, industrial facilities such as wastewater treatment plants and sewage lift stations, performing work outside in the field. Successful applicant will be expected to perform work at heights in a bucket truck.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; carry materials and tools to work site up to 50lbs regularly and 51+ occasionally by team lifting. This position requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools.
