Dartmouth Partners has been engaged by a leading venture‑focused specialty finance firm to hire an Investment Underwriter as they continue to expand across key U.S. markets. This platform provides structured debt solutions to high‑growth technology and life sciences companies and is seeking candidates with strong formal credit training and proven experience underwriting in this ecosystem. Ideal candidates will come from venture lending groups, growth credit teams, tech‑focused underwriting platforms. Key Responsibilities
Underwrite venture loans and growth credit facilities, typically above the $10MM+ deal size threshold.
Evaluate technology and life sciences borrowers, including financial analysis, industry assessment, and collateral evaluation.
Prepare charming credit memos, risk assessments, and investment recommendations.
Collaborate closely with originations, portfolio management, legal, and senior leadership.
Present underwriting conclusions to the credit committee and defend risk assessments.
3–5+ years of underwriting experience within venture lending, growth credit, or adjacent technology‑focused credit roles.
Formal credit training (bank program or equivalent).
Strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and risk evaluation judgment.
