Shift : Monday‑Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). Occasional nights, weekends or holidays may be required.

Physical Requirements : Job‑related travel; visiting clientele at sites throughout the county (including farms); sitting/standing/walking for long periods; handling average‑weight objects up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range : $15.30 – 16.25 per hour

Job Summary As an Extension Assistant for 4‑H Youth Development, you will provide administrative support to the 4‑H Youth Development program area and the 4‑H Youth Development County Agent(s). You will report to an Extension Agent and interact frequently with the general public. The role requires knowledge of the Cooperative Extension Service philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures. General duties include program support, teaching, recruitment & marketing, and record keeping while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

Maintain QuickBooks and budgeting files.

Promote and organize new 4‑H clubs.

Recruit members and volunteer leaders.

Provide support and guidance to existing 4‑H clubs.

Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events and activities such as group projects, 4‑H achievement events, and public presentations.

Serve all clientele in a professional manner.

Ensure compliance with state and national background‑check requirements.

Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher), Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom.

Experience with QuickBooks.

Preferably educated or experienced in youth work and administrative support roles.

Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel to various county sites and work flexible hours.
