As an Accounting Associate, you will assist the team with project budgeting, invoicing, and preparing monthly status reports. You will be responsible for project coordination and managing all project-related document control, including developing and tracking decision logs, creating and processing action items, and assisting with accounts payable, overhead expenses, and general ledger accounting.
Responsibilities
Assist with project budgeting, invoicing, and monthly status reports.
Coordinate projects and handle all document control.
Develop and track decision logs, create and process action items.
Assist in processing accounts payable, overhead expenses, and general ledger accounting.
Perform coding in general ledger and data entry.
Assist with project set‑up, budgeting, invoicing, and contract assessment.
Utilize Excel for pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and reporting.
Submit purchase requisitions and manage labor adjustments.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in project accounting and project billing.
Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.
Experience with Oracle software.
Industry experience with a mid to large‑sized accounting and finance group.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Experience in construction, engineering, environmental, or architecture industry preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP, direct/indirect labor, billing, job costing, and project life cycle.
Work Environment The position is based in a modern office located in Tampa, within a professional environment. The team comprises five accountants. Initially, the training will be conducted fully on‑site during the contract period. Once training is completed, the position will transition to a hybrid work model. The company offers competitive pay raises upon permanent conversion and a strong benefits plan.
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $22.00 – $26.93 per hour.
