**JOB SUMMARY**

*The Assessment Testing Assistant is responsible for administering and scoring specialized tests to students (e.g., WIDA, Acadience, etc.) based on standardized methodologies; and assisting in other clerical functions as needed.*

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

*All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. *

High school diploma or equivalent *Per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), interested applicants must be Highly Qualified to be considered for the position and have completed one of the following:* - completed at least two years at an accredited higher education institution (minimum 48 semester hours), or obtained an associates (or higher) degree from an accredited higher education institution, or satisfied a rigorous state or local assessment (Parapro Assessment/PRAXIS ETS) with a score of 460 or higher

*The higher education institution official transcripts, or college diploma, or a copy of the Paraprofessional Assessment must be provided with your application or upon a contingent offer of employment*

Speak, read, write, and present professionally, analyze, and interpret English written and verbal communications

Ability to establish rapport quickly with children and adults by being personable and easy to get along with

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Administer and score student tests using standardized methodologies and protocols to determine student proficiency and placement Learn the complexities of administering standardized cognitive and academic assessments Schedule student testing with site personnel to evaluate students in accordance with District requirements Travel to district sites to conduct assessments and evaluations (reliable transportation required) Work one on one or in small groups with non-English speaking children to assist in the administration of required testing Make careful and accurate observations regarding children and their performance. Express observations in clear, concise writing Perform general clerical functions to provide or maintain appropriate documentation Participate in meetings, workshops, seminars, as assigned to convey and gather information required to perform functions Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to effectively perform the duties of the position Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions, as required As needed, roll, push, pull, bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job

**WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's f nctions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 30 pounds, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
