Overview Schedule: Part Time Rotating Shift (supplemental hours)

Work Location: Ball Memorial Hospital

Department Supported: Public Safety

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health.

Respond to calls for service.

Enforce and assist in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes.

Provide direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients.

Assist teams with de‑escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations.

Proactively work to prevent crime and safety incidents.

Respond价值 to and investigate criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed.

Maintain records and logs and complete written reports as required.

Perform physical security screening as required.

Create a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests.

Perform other duties as assigned by the chain of command.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED is required.

Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.

Requires a current non‑restricted Indiana Driver's License.

Requires successful completionoufl of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier I or Tier II training within one (1) year after appointment as a police officer.

Must be able to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access.

Must not have convictions for felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor offenses.

Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background investigation, drug screening and psychological exam.

Requires working knowledge of computers and various software programs.

Have never had a law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked.

Not currently on suspension or have a voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license currently in effect.
