Full-Time Outreach Coordinator
Location: Queens / Manhattan, New York, United States
Reports to: Program Manager
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Program Manager to implement the Consumer Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Program
Establish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured populations
Connect with organizations that serve the aged, blind and disabled population to raise community awareness of the program and of Medicaid enrollment services
Plan, schedule, and conduct outreach (e.g., street outreach, community events, and presentations at senior centers) and train enrollers on outreach and recruitment strategies
Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and conferences
Coordinate open‑house events to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance options
Enroll clients into Medicaid programs with Medicare eligibility assessments
Track referrals and collaborations within and outside the Health Center
Provide monthly reports to the Manager on outreach statistics
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience in public health, social services, health insurance enrollment, and outreach (preferred)
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
Solid presentation skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public and in front of large groups
Ability to develop business contacts and collaborative professional relationships
High computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Ability to manage conflicting priorities
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $45,000 per year
