Responsibilities
Perform a variety of administrative functions and assist Building Safety, Code Enforcement, Floodplain, Grading and Drainage, Planning and Zoning, and Wastewater Division customers and staff while maintaining a general knowledge of application and permitting requirements for each division.
Provide customer service to the public by responding to requests for information, answering questions on permit requirements and associated fees, explaining policies, procedures, codes, standards and enforcement, and assisting theхийн but the rest of the job offer.
Review incoming plans and permit requests for completeness and compliance with regulations; inspect, review and process documents according to department and division policies; accept or reject applications; calculate and determine permit and application fees; approve and issue permits; and forward applications and supporting documentation to appropriate staff for review and comment.
Create customer parcel and permit files, enteracquire data and documents into computer and manual filing systems, compile and maintain accurate and detailed records, and keep computer files regarding permits and project submittals up to date; research and maintain permit and inspection records, plans and maps; and complete public records requests.
Schedule inspections based on geographic location космет, time constraints and workload, and compile information for inspectors.
Perform general office duties, including assisting customers at the counter, answering telephone calls, corresponding by e‑mail and letters, picking up and delivering mail to the post office, distributing mail to staff, and ordering office supplies when required.
Receive and process monies; prepare and make bank or treasury deposits as needed; and prepare and distribute reports detailing financial activities.
