Licensed Therapist – Mental Health Deputy Co‑Responder LifePath Systems invites you to apply for the Licensed Therapist – Mental Health Deputy Co‑Responder position within the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.

$2,000.00 sign‑on bonus, payable at the 6‑month mark.

This position serves as the licensed behavioral health clinician with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office. The clinician responds to referrals and on‑scene calls in partnership with Collin County mental health deputies and may work in environments with intensive crisis situations, requiring emergency services and long or irregular work hours. The licensed clinician identifies behavioral health needs, assesses for behavioral health crises, and coordinates access to appropriate treatment options based on the least restrictive environment and in collaboration with the person, family/support system, and law enforcement. Assessment and treatment decision making follows a person‑centered, trauma‑informed approach and is culturally and linguistically appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and triage crisis situations in the community.

Follow the individual from crisis episode into appropriate care, providing outreach and follow‑up as assigned.

Submit monthly reporting per contract requirements.

Successfully complete all required training for LifePath Systems and the Collin County Sheriff’s Office upon hire and annually.

Perform other duties as assigned to support program needs and partnership collaboration.

Specific Targets

Ensure documentation is completed and signed by the end of shift.

Complete assigned follow‑ups at appropriate intervals.

Communicate shift report at the end of each shift.

Achieve 90% of full chart reviews scoring 80 or higher.

Attend monthly team meetings.

If unforeseen circumstances require paid time off, employees must notify their supervisor within 4 hours of their scheduled start time.

Schedule Shifts: Sunday – Wednesday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Qualifications Education, Training, & Experience

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.

Full, unrestricted Texas license as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT; licensed associate or intern considered if timeframe to full licensure.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in behavioral health crisis assessment and/or response.

Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use related issues.

Previous work experience, partnership, or collaboration with law enforcement highly desired.

Texasuintptr driver’s license required.

Must pass a background check with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.

Knowledge of UM Guidelines, Texas Administrative Code, and Info Item V Standards.

Organized, detail‑oriented, computer proficient, and able to write clearly and professionally.

Ability to think logically, de‑escalate dangerous or emotional situations, and utilize de‑escalation techniques.

Assess individual needs, coordinate services, communicate effectively, and train others.
