Overview Phlebotomist – UNC OB‑GYN at Weaver Crossing. Performs phlebotomy procedures and point‑of‑care testing supporting clinical activities in the Healthcare System. Works with patients and healthcare providers in a quality‑controlled environment.

Responsibilities

Consults/confers with healthcare providers/patients regarding patient care as it relates to phlebotomy service issues.

Ensures quality and accuracy of work.

Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens and/or workflow.

May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.

May perform teaching and training of new employees, phlebotomy students and/or other healthcare providers.

May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to healthcare providers.

Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.

Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks. Monitors daily operation of laboratory work area.

Education and Licensure No specific education, licensure, or certification required. Applicants must meet position qualifications.

Professional Experience

One (1) year of phlebotomy experience required, or

Graduation from a phlebotomy program with experience preferred
