A Brief Overview The MRI Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population and demonstrating appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

What you will do

Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.

Assist in the development of others through guidance and teaching, promoting professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.

Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.

Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment; plan work and complete job responsibilities efficiently.

Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.

Education Qualifications

Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology

Experience Qualifications

No prior work experience required

Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.

Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.

Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association required

Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred

Supervision Provided by this Position

There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other associates and observe/instruct student technologists.

Physical Demands

Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.

Good balance and coordination required.

Medium work—exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.

Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision for activities such as assessing patients and viewing computer terminals.

Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact.

Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials.

Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
