Mechanical Design Engineer – EV Battery Systems

Location: Rock Hill, SC (Greenville‑Spartanburg‑Anderson area also available)
Job Summary We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to support the design and development of EV battery pack components and systems. The role involves mechanical design ownership, CAD modeling using CATIA V6, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to support products from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for EV battery packs (modules, enclosures, brackets, structural parts)
Create parametric 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V6
Apply GD&T and ensure drawings meet engineering and manufacturing standards
Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities
Work with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and quality teams for system integration
Ensure designs meet DFM/DFA and manufacturability requirements
Support design changes, documentation, and BOM maintenance
Participate in design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
5–8 years of experience in mechanical design
Strong hands‑on experience with CATIA V6
Experience in EV / Battery / Automotive domain
Good knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, and cast components
Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
Preferred Skills
Exposure to EV battery pack or energy storage systems
Knowledge of thermal or structural design concepts
Experience supporting prototype to production transition
