CORPAY is currently hiring a Tax Analyst within our Finance division. This position falls under our Comdata Overhead line of business and is located in Brentwood, TN. You will be responsible for compiling financial information necessary for operating tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, and fuel tax. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Tax and regularly collaborate with the team and other departments. How We Work
Assigned workspace in the Brentwood office. Company‑issued equipment and remote access. Formal, hands‑on training. Role Responsibilities
Preparing timely and accurate sales and use tax returns for some complex states. Preparing timely and accurate property tax returns for multiple locations. Preparing timely and accurate fuel tax returns for multiple customers. Preparing tax accrual accounts and monthly reconciliations. Reviewing and responding to tax notices. Identifying ways to improve the tax compliance process. Assisting with sales and use tax audit responses. Preparing state and local business license applications and renewals; responding to notices. Reviewing and analyzing capital expenditures and consumable invoices to ensure proper sales/use tax treatment and to ensure proper accruals are maintained. Examining company and vendor tax exemption (resale) certificates for accurate completion prior to being maintained and approved by other assigned personnel. Maintaining tax calendars for statutory deadlines and any applicable extensions (Personal Property Tax). Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred with up to 2 or more years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 6 or more years of related tax experience is required. Demonstrated ability to process and file multistate sales and use tax, property tax, and fuel tax returns. Proven intermediate level proficiency in Word and Excel. Experience with Vertex and OneSource tax software, and account reconciliation software (e.g., Blackline, AssureNET).
Strong personal organization with excellent oral/written communication skills. Detail oriented with a commitment to above‑average accuracy. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize assignments. Ability to work calmly in a fast‑paced team environment. Superior telephone, email etiquette, and customer service skills with the ability to react quickly to resolve tax authority issues.
