Position Description Physical Location In‑Person Inwood, or In‑Person The Bronx

Hours

3 PM - 5 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (or a combination of hours within this range/flexible)

Position Summary The After School Tutor will provide academic support to students in a small group or one‑on‑one setting after school hours. The tutor will work with K‑6th grade students to reinforce classroom learning, help with homework, and offer additional instruction in subject areas where students may need improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Provide homework / tutoring to K‑6th graders in one or more subjects (e.g., math, reading, science, writing) based on students' needs.

Assist students with homework, projects, and test preparation.

Maintain a safe and productive after‑school learning environment.

Ensure that students are actively engaged and participate in learning activities.

Assist in organizing and leading enrichment activities or educational games when appropriate.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to effectively tutor, mentor, or teach K‑8th grade students.

Prior experience tutoring, mentoring or teaching strongly preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent plus some college coursework required; degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred.

Strong communication, ontwikkelen patience, and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting student success.

Able to start immediately.
