Lead Financial Analyst (Hybrid)
Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)
We are open to hire at either the Senior or Lead level, depending on experience (years of experience and salary band listed is for lead level).
Job Summary This position will be responsible for the financial tracking/reporting on NiSource’s enterprise‑wide savings initiatives. The analyst will be the central point of financial support for multiple teams including Apollo CI, Supply Chain, Value Captured, and Work Management. We are looking for someone with strong soft skills, able to manage relationships across all levels of the organization, and possessing financial acumen for how O&M and Capital savings flow through financials. The analyst will communicate impacts to financial leadership.
Essential Functions
Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions; use effective approaches for choosing courses of action or developing appropriate solutions; take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
Compile, organize, and format data, including qualitative analysis for internal and external reporting. Identify and research reporting issues, provide recommendations, and assist with new reporting requirements.
Support regulatory initiatives by gathering data and preparing regulatory schedules or pro‑forma calculations, testimony, and data requests. Assist with review and analysis of regulatory documents.
Apply technical knowledge to processes, procedures, and tasks as needed.
Demonstrate working knowledge of financial statements, metrics, and key strategic business initiatives; use economic and industry data relevant to job responsibilities.
Understand the operating plan and role in the F&A organization; collaborate with corporate and business units to develop solutions.
Document work fully and accurately, ensuring quality control.
Take action to identify, analyze, and improve existing processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness and meet new goals.
Required Qualifications
Four‑year degree in a business discipline.
Four years or more of experience in finance, accounting, regulatory, or a related field.
Experience across multiple functions.
Proficiency with PC applications.
Regulatory Finance Acumen – understand how financial statement changes impact customer bills and NI EPS.
Building Partnerships – develop and leverage relationships within and across work groups to achieve results.
Decision Support – recommend the most effective course of action after evaluating options against decision criteria.
Influencing – gain others’ commitment to take action that enhances value for business partners and/or customers.
Continuous Improvement – initiate improvements, identify opportunities, generate ideas, and implement solutions.

Salary Range $96,600.00 – $144,900.00 (based on skills, job‑related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity).
