Job Summary/Basic Function The Math Lead Tutor supports the tutoring center by providing high-quality academic assistance to students while serving as a mentor and role model for peer tutors. This position assists with tutor training, center projects, and guides tutors to ensure consistent tutoring practices and a supportive learning environment. The Math Lead Tutor collaborates with the Math Tutoring Coordinator to promote effective tutoring strategies, maintain accurate records, and enhance student success. In addition to tutoring in mathematics, the Math Lead Tutor helps monitor tutoring sessions, provides constructive feedback to tutors, and supports the overall operations and goals of the Learning Support Center.

Required Qualifications

Completed Tutor Training I & II as well as clocked 50 hours or more of student sessions

Worked for the Math Tutoring Center for at least two consecutive semesters

Must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 in mathematics subjects

Excelled at the job duties of a Math Tutor in previous semesters

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Organizational and time-management skills

Familiarity with Starfish

Ability to navigate new technologies as needed
