WESTAFF IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR A PRESS OPERATOR ASSISTANT IN A LARGE PRINT COMPANY IN THE DURHAM AREA
$17.00 per hour
Hours (2 shifts available) 7am-7pm- or 7am-7pm- 7pm-7am (rotating shifts)
Digital Press Operator Assistant Duties:
Prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly.
Inspect the fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and the mechanisms related to the reels.
Maintain proper inventory of paper and record usage and spoilage on the SPC report.
Ensure that the roll of paper is properly unwrapped, mounted and ready to be spliced.
Monitor the flow of paper throughout the run and prepare/install a new roll when necessary.
Work in conjunction with the press operator and other Press Assistants on preventative maintenance of the press.
Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairing the press.
May assist with make‑readies.
May adjust ink, solvent, and varnish to ensure proper color is established or maintained as required by location.
Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures, including handling hazardous waste, lock‑out/tag‑out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Follow the requirements of the documented process defined in the ISO Quality Manual.
Qualifications:
Must have 2–4 years of experience in a printing environment.
Experience operating various hand tools.
Be able to work in a team environment.
Be able to stand for up to zka hours at a time runtime = true.;
