We are seeking a detail-oriented HR and Payroll Specialist to join our company. In this role, you will manage payroll processing, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience across the organization.

Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Strategy

Administer HR, payroll, and benefits programs, policies, and procedures

Develop and maintain personnel policies, handbook content, job descriptions, and compensation structures

Manage HRIS systems, vendors, contracts, and budgets

Support labor forecasting and salary surveys

Oversee Office Managers’ HR-related responsibilities

Employment & Staffing

Coordinate recruitment for exempt and non-exempt roles

Manage onboarding, orientations, background checks, drug screenings, I‑9 verification, and exit interviews

Partner with staffing agencies for contingent workforce needs

Payroll

Oversee accurate and timely weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies and states

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations

Resolve payroll discrepancies and manage tax filings, garnishments, and withholdings

Coordinate payroll setup for new entities and states

Benefits Administration

Develop, administer, and evaluate employee benefit programs (medical, dental, life, disability, PTO, 401(k), etc.)

Manage vendors, consultants, and third‑party administrators

Conduct benefits orientations and communicate plan information

Resolve claims issues and review programs annually for cost effectiveness

Training & Development

Coordinate HR policy training and support organizational development initiatives

Track and monitor employee training programs

Employee Relations & Engagement

Manage performance review process, discipline, and termination guidance

Lead wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and employee events

Advise management on employee relations matters

Coordinate community involvement and volunteer initiatives

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with EEO, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, OSHA, and workers’ compensation regulations

Maintain personnel records and file EEO-1 reports

Serve as company representative for workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, hearings, and appeals

Administer Ohio BWC Drug‑Free Workplace program and return‑to‑work пикиндити (initiatives)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or general studies with 5 years in payroll and benefits administration experience or 10 years of benefit and payroll administration

Strong knowledge of payroll systems, benefits administration, and employment law

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll software

Skills & Abilities

Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
