Process Safety Management / PSM Engineer - Franklin, LA Onsite
Cabot Corporation is seeking a Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to join the Technical & Operations team onsite at the Franklin, LA site. This role is ideal for a technical professional passionate about process safety who will have a site‑wide impact by developing and managing Cabot’s process safety plan for Cabot’s largest carbon black facility.
Responsibilities In this role you will initiate activities, procedures, and projects that improve product quality, optimize production capacity, ensure equipment reliability, provide capitalstrictly, integrate new technology and practices, and optimize overall performance. You will be responsible for the plant’s development, implementation, and day‑to‑day management of Cabot’s process safety management systems, ensuring compliance with Cabot’s process safety requirements as well as OSHA and EPA RMP regulations.
You will also develop, manage, and coordinate the ongoing maintenance of all PSM elements, including Employee Participation Plans, Written Process Safety Information, ProcessInbox Hazard Analyses, Written Operating Procedures, Training and Documentation, Contractor Requirements, Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews, Management of Change, Incident Investigations, Compliance Audits, and Trade Secrets.
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment:
Lead Process Hazard Analyses for the site, mentor others, understand and evaluate process safety controls, and identify improvements or new controls for risk reduction.
Management of Change:
Initiate and prepare MOC documents, update information વધારો God. Communicate changes as required, and actively implement change management procedures.
Systems Manuals & Drawings:
Define the document management system, review P&ID, process flows, manuals, and operative documentation, and use MOC for all document changes.
Safety:
Ensure compliance of plant utilities and operating units, promote behavioral safety systems, update operating procedures, assist training, and lead the Management of Change process.
Environmental:
Ensure environmental compliance of utilities and units, monitor emissions, investigate processes that reduce the environmental footprint, and implement changes to achieve compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
At least 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Production experience in the specialty chemical or petrochemical industry preferred.
Basic knowledge of chemistry, understanding of Statistical Process Control tools, and experience with analytical problem‑solving methodologies (root cause analysis, failure mode analysis) and quality management principles. Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, RC14001, ISO 9001, and PSM.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage verbal and written stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Aspen IP.21, AutoCAD, مخکې data analysis preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, including strict adherence to SH&E procedures, and continuous pursuit of excellence in sustainability and safety topics such as PSM, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
