R-25491## **Manager - Distribution Planning**## **Reports to Sr** **Director - Integrated System Planning**## **Reports to Rochester, NY**## **The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $135,000-$160,400****Job Summary**This position oversees and manages the Avangrid Networks Distribution Planning Team. This includes the planning processes to ensure system performance and capacity to operate within established criteria. Additional responsibilities include working closely with governing processes on strategic issues impacting the integrity of the distribution electrical infrastructure, oversight with regard to the prioritization of Avangrid Networks distribution capital investments, and monitoring industry and legislative change and research relating to Distributed Energy Resources (DER). This role is instrumental in fostering team involvement and development to allow for continuous learning in a changing technology environment.**Key Responsibilities*** Manages subordinate engineering staff and contracted external resources. Sets department goals and strategic direction and initiates action plans, engineering studies and assignments to accomplish goals.* Provides technical support, guidance, coaching, and counseling. Appraises individual employee performance. Plans and implements training and development of department personnel.* Develops organizational performance measures, initiates actions to enhance performance, reviews work processes, systems, procedures and practices and directs changes to improve productivity or control costs. Determines staffing needs and obtains approval for resource requirements.* Develops short- and long-range plans to meet reliability and capacity needs. Oversees, defines and prioritizes system-wide and circuit-level solutions based on established criteria, risk, impact, value, and implementation complexity. Provides oversight and recommendations as to the prioritization of Avangrid Networks distribution capital investments.* Works closely with governing processes on all appropriate strategic issues impacting the integrity of distribution electrical infrastructure.* Monitors industry and legislative change and researches issues relating to Distributed Energy Resources (DER).* Collaborates and coordinates with other departments within Avangrid and Iberdrola, consultants, attorneys, utilities, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers. Represents Avangrid Networks on technical committees such as ISO-NE, EPRI, and other agencies. Provides technical input and testimony for regulatory proceedings.**Required Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7 years relevant experience required.* Supervisory experience.* Demonstrated leadership skills.**Preferred Qualifications*** Advanced degree or specialized courses in engineering, planning, reliability, process analysis and or process modeling is preferable.* Delivering for the Business:
