VP Commercial Banking Officer Location: Wakefield, MA

GENERAL SUMMARY The Commercial Banking Officer develops and maintains banking relationships with business entities in the community. This position structures, negotiates, and originates C&I, commercial real estate, investment real estate, and business loans while managing a commercial deposit and loan portfolio.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Independently originate new commercial loans and develop lending relationships.
Determine the viability of commercial loan opportunities and borrower credit quality, given the Bank's products, lending limits, and asset quality goals.
Manage a loan portfolio. Regularly communicate with and document customers and potential borrowers. Provide outstanding internal and external service for assigned customers.
Participate in weekly Credit Committee meetings. Propose new loan deals and discuss business development opportunities.
Partner with branch management and cash management officer to holistically manage commercial relationships.
Coordinate with the Credit Department and the Commercial Loan Administrators to oversee loan approvals, closings, and reviews. Ensure the timely collections of all related forms and documents.
Perform and present annual reviews for assigned commercial borrowers.
Renew and extend applicable loans that have matured.
Perform collection efforts on past‑due loans, in collaboration with the Senior Commercial Banking Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
Refer other banking products to deepen relationships and increase profitability, practice focusing on increasing balances and generating non‑interest income. Applicable areas include Retail Banking, e‑Banking, Residential Mortgage Lending, Cash Management, and Wealth Management.
Monitor ongoing trends, concerns, and developments in banking, commercial Kail, and the local economy.
Play an active role in the community, representing the Bank in civic and community organizations within the lending area. Perform CRA‑related activities.
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of commercial lending, verwand zmancredit analysis, portfolio management, and/or business development experience.
Strong relationship management and networking skills.
Ability to generate business referrals from centers of influence, such as attorneys, accountants, mortgage/business brokers and existing customers.
Strong banking, lending, credit and relationship management skills, particularly as applicable to commercial real estate and C&I lending.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary Range $115,948.00 - $153,631.10 - $191,314.20
