The anti‑money laundering (AML) and counter‑terrorist financing (CTF) compliance landscape is gaining significant importance across the corporate and trust services sectors. We see a growing need for talent with high‑level skills in risk analysis, know‑your‑client (KYC), and client due diligence—coupled with strong communication and sound judgment capabilities.
The Role:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist Global Transaction Monitoring (TM) leads the independent QA function for critical TM and AML processes in the first line of defense. This role designs and executes risk‑based testing, drives remediation, provides training, creates procedures, works on control improvements, and delivers timely insights to senior leadership. The QA Specialist partners closely with Global TM and KYCS teams to uphold quality standards, strengthen operational effectiveness, and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the independent control and quality testing function for key TM processes; define scope, methodology, and sampling.
Execute risk‑based QA reviews, produce clear reports of testing outcomes, and track remediation through to closure.
Ensure management implements control fixes; maintain an auditable log of issues, owners, target dates, and status.
Provide regular feedback sessions and readouts to management and senior management on findings and trends.
Collaborate on the design and implementation of TM policies, procedures, work instructions, and SOP updates based on QA outcomes.
Design, maintain, and automate Management Information (MI) dashboards to monitor Service Delivery Standards (SDS), adherence, and quality KPIs.
Analyze QA trends, identify root causes of recurring errors, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Design and deliver training materials and targeted coaching informed by QA findings.
Ensure accurate classification of risk ratings and adherence to applicable regulatory standards (e.g., AML, FATF, OFAC, EU AMLD, local laws).
Partner with KYCS on onboarding, periodic reviews, screening, and client outreach to embed QA insights in first‑line processes.
Prepare for and support internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examinations for TM‑related activities.
Continuously improve QA methodology, sampling, and tooling; champion data‑driven quality and control culture.
Qualifications & Experience
3–6 years of relevant domain/functional experience, including 2+ years in risk & compliance audit or quality assurance.
Strong understanding of AML, KYC, due diligence, remediation processes, and corporate regulatory obligations in multiple jurisdictions.
Hands‑on experience in transaction monitoring processes, QA/testing methodologies, and issue remediation.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data analysis/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence without authority.
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work across time zones in a fast‑paced global environment.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards related to financial and economic crime in the Netherlands.
Experience building or scaling a QA function for AML/TM in a global organization.
Familiarity with EU AML Directives, Dutch WTT and Wwft, OFAC sanctions, and FATF Recommendations.
