Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you. The MK21A program is seeking a dynamic and experienced software engineer to support their development teams. Perspective candidates will: The MK21 program seeks a motivated, detail‑focused Software Systems Engineer who will integrate system and software designs into a unified product, maintain end‑to‑end traceability, and contribute to test equipment development.

Key Responsibilities

Translate system architecture, customer/product requirements, and CONOPS into detailed software requirements and interface definitions.

Support verification planning by establishing clear traceability links from architecture through requirements to test artifacts.

Leverage cutting‑edge Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo) to create synergistic models that connect verification items, requirements, and design elements.

Develop and maintain product and process documentation (CDRLs–Contract Data Requirements List) in accordance with contract requirements.

Coordinate design information across the system to ensure consistency and completeness throughout the development lifecycle.

Use your excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of solutions.

Basic Qualifications

Experience in one or more Software Systems Engineering functions, such as:

Subsystem design or analysis

Systems or software modeling experience

Requirements and Software Interface Control Document (ICD) development

Ability to obtain secret security clearance.

Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ Certification.

Desired Skills

Active Secret Clearance.

Systems and/or software engineering experience or relevant systems engineering training through a university or certificate program.

Experience with:

Software Requirements Development (DOORS experience a plus)

SW architecture development

Cross‑reference SW architecture to system architecture and design

DOD Software CDRL Development

Software Model Development with modeling tool such as Cameo or Rhapsody

Familiarity with modeling language(s) such as SysML/UML and Architecture Framework(s) such as DODAF.

Ability to understand code written in programming languages such as C, C++, MATLAB or Python.

Familiar with Agile Development Process.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, synergetic team environment.

Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members.

Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance level: Secret.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full‑time – the work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from a standard 40‑hour, five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our paid time‑off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.
