Location: Dallas, TX. Salary: $48,000 - $72,000.
Job Overview As a Materials Technician, you will perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate with project stakeholders, transport material samples, maintain equipment, and assist in scheduling technicians. You will work under close supervision while gaining training and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client and contractor representatives regarding project requirements and testing results.
Transport material samples to the laboratory with identifying documentation.
Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal.
Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
Adhere to strict safety standards, perform pre-task planning, and report safety concerns.
Document findings and results clearly, and communicate them to the Project Manager.
Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F‑150 or equivalent.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of experience in construction materials testing.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Required Certifications
Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
Preferred Certifications
Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
