Assistant Nurse Manager, Patient Care (MedSurg) (F/T) Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to lead a patient care unit during assigned shifts, ensuring high-quality, family‑centered care.

Base Pay Range $64.00/hr – $96.00/hr

Manages and leads team members, operations, and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift.

Collaborates with team members and nursing management in developing methods, techniques, and analytical approaches to patient care.

Communicates, builds consensus, and guides team members toward achieving department objectives.

Promotes and maintains high quality patient and family‑centered care in a healing_movie environment.

Creates a professional work environment that encourages team member respect, engagement, accountability and optimal patient outcomes.

Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence‑based, ethical and compassionate practice.

Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift.

May conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions and corrective actions.гоит

Serves as the a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational andћ leadership).

Educates team members in new and existing department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility, etc.).

Provides input on department budget allocations to nursingMeasurements management.

Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice.

Facilitates continual patient care unit compliance with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPAA regulations and system, hospital and department standards.

Demonstrates core clinical competencies for patient population oversight in order to supervise and provide direct patient care.

Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health.

Interprets policies, procedures, and technical methods for team members.

Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations that improve patient care delivery and team effectiveness using evidence‑based strategies and solutions.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, required.

4–6 years of nursing experience and

Specialized certifications as needed.
