The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking an Addictions Counselor 2 to provide addictions counseling, treatment, and recovery services to individuals with mental illness.
Job Summary As an Addictions Counselor 2, you will deliver addiction counseling and treatment services to clients with mental illness.
Pay Range Base pay: $66,951.00/yr – $85,138.00/yr
Responsibilities
Completing psychosocial assessments and substance‑related screenings.
Developing individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives.
Participating in case review to present clinical observations and suggest treatment programs.
Conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
Monitoring and reporting on individuals’ progress and maintaining records.
Coordinating treatment planning with other clinical disciplines for individuals with more complicated conditions.
Supervising Addictions Counselor Assistants and Addiction Counselors 1.
Qualifications
Registered as a CASAC‑Advanced Counselor or CASAC(Application)-Master Counselor in New York State and having one year of post‑registration addictions counseling experience in a certified or licensed program.
Alternatively, possessing one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
