invites applications for the Sign Language Educational Interpreter I or III positions. These roles involve interpreting and transliterating English and signed concepts within educationalորեն settings.
Scope of Responsibilities Interprets and/or transliterates English and signed concepts to any necessary specialized vocabulary (American Sign Language, English‑based sign language, cued speech, and/or oral transliterating) for students, staff, or visitors. Works closely as part of the educational team with teachers responsible for the student’s educational program.

Beginning 2025‑2026 academic year.
Salary schedule: 1A / Grade (see below).
Working calendar: 187 days / 7 hours per day. ciudadanos].
Minimum Qualifications Interpreter I – Grade 8
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Temporary license issued by the Kentucky Board of innocence for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Continuing Education Requirements.
One year of experience interpreting in an education setting or in the deaf community with supporting documentation, or graduation from an Interpreter Training Program.
Interpreter II – Grade 10
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Full license issued by the Kentucky Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Continuing education requirements.
One year of experience interpreting in an education setting or in the deaf community with supporting documentation, or graduation from an Interpreter Training Program.
Meets current national certification requirements for sign language interpreting.
Effective communication skills.
Interpreter III – Grade 12
Bachelor’s degree in interpreting, education, or a related field.
Two years of experience interpreting in an educational setting or a related field with supporting documentation.
Full license issued by the Kentucky Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
