Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr
The Fordy Group are partnered with a well-established heavy civil construction firm specializing in highway, bridge, and DOT infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience to support our growing backlog of public works projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil estimating, including roadway, bridge, earthwork, utilities, and structural concrete.
This role plays a critical part in our bidding success by producing accurate, competitive pushes with project management, engineering and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for highway, bridge, and DOT construction projects
Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements to define accurate scopes of work
Perform detailed quantity take‑offs for earthwork, roadway, utilities, drainage, structures, paving, and concrete
Analyse production rates, means and methods, labour, equipment, and material costs
Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, access, logistics, and potential risks
Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to develop bid strategies and value‑engineering ideasUnlock C ret;run
Support bid reviews, clarifications, and post‑bid negotiations
Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost data, unit pricing, and production rates
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
Strong experience with highway, bridge, roadway, and DOT‑funded work
In‑depth knowledge of civil/sitework, including excavation, grading, utilities, drainage, and concrete
Proficiency with estimating and take‑off software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Agtek, Civil 3 Imported; research Inc.TA
Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on state DOT, municipal, or federally funded infrastructure projects
Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements and DOT compliance standards
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (orított xe)
