Performs various patient care activities and related duties necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of the patient as well as for the effective and efficient operation of the department
Conducts continuous EKG monitoring of cardiac rhythms
Accurately interprets EKG rhythms, noting changes in the rhythm, rate, or arrhythmia
Communicates changes to appropriate personnel when indicated
Performs various general secretarial/receptionist duties and prepares, compiles, and maintains records for a critical care unit.## **Job Description**### **QUALIFICATIONS:**High school graduation or GED certificate. Completion of a technical program for nursing assistant training and/or satisfactory completion of academic courses related to fundamentals of nursing and/or satisfactory completion of institutional Patient Care Assistant Program. Successful completion of EKG course for Monitor Technicians and demonstration of competency in the interpretation of ECG rhythm strips### ### **LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:**Must be able to read and write clearly and legibly. Must be able to read, write and speak English Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.
