Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Phlebotomist (FGP) – Manhattan, Multispeciality. In this role, the FGP Phlebotomist will perform routine phlebotomy (specimen procurement) via venipuncture or finger sticks following established protocol, prepare patients before drawing blood, explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions, gather medical testing materials including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes, verify patient information, label blood samples properly, and use the laboratory information system for specimen accessioning, label generation and other computer‑related operations to facilitate specimen processing.
Job Responsibilities
Perform routine phlebotomy via venipuncture or finger sticks following established protocol.
Prepare patients before drawing blood.
Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions.
Gather medical testing materials (needles, sample vials, blood storage bags, test tubes).
Verify patient information and label blood samples properly.
Utilize the laboratory information system for specimen accessioning, label generation, and other computer‑related operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent.
One year of phlebotomy experience performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
Practical knowledge of laboratory information system operations.
Phlebotomy Certificate and/or Certification in Medical Assisting or equivalent experience.
Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and other staff.
Strong verbal communication skills in English.
Strong written communication skills in English, including legibility, neatness and completeness of thought.
Detail‑oriented, capable of handling stress from irregular workload, and able to maintain a businesslike and professional attitude at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
MA experience.

Salary Information NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements. The salary range for this role is $66,697.18 - $66,697.19 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms(commitments) of compensation or benefits.
