Responsibilities
Directs workflow and staff of assigned area to ensure the efficiency and productivity of the department.
Monitors workflow of assigned staff in all sections of the department of Materials Services as assigned by dams shift supervisor.
Performs staff assignments during heavy work periods, short staffing situations or as requested by the shift supervisor.
Accepts calls from user/customer groups, responding to complaints or requests for special services.
Accepts complaint calls from user/customer groups and corrects problems relating to services provided, notifying shift supervisor of each complaint.
Performs temporary shift supervisor responsibilities in the absence of the shift supervisor.
Performs shift supervisor duties for temporary periods including sick/vacation time or as requested by the shift supervisor.
Completes special projects as requested by the shift supervisor.
Initiates and completes special projects such as completion time studies or job enhancements, customer‑requested special services, system work (e.g., tube system), or other departmental related activities.
Receives service requests from hospital departments through the CCSS information system, assigns work and completes orders on the CCSS system under the direction of the shift supervisor, when applicable.
Reviews information for accuracy and assigns service requests to appropriate transport staff as observed by the shift supervisor.
Monitors the Translogic Computer Tube System to assure normal operation and accesses the system through CRT to repair and adjust as required.
Ensures all system hardware components function properly and that the program moves tubes for all zones efficiently.
Accesses the Global Inventory System to maintain backup and exchange cart system par levels and creates post charges to reconcile issuance.
Assists the shift supervisor in supporting staff assignments for the SPD exchange cart system as requested.
Assists the SPD Manager in maintaining a safe and clean environment in the SPD Center, when applicable.
Monitors employee activity to ensure safe operation of Materials Center equipment such as forklifts, pallet movers, etc., as observed by the SPD Manager.
Qualifications Education High school graduate with courses completed in supervisory management or supply and distribution management.
Experience Minimum two (2) years actively working in a lead/supervisory position or related position with at least six (6) direct reporting staff. This position may include operating a motor vehicle intrastate with GVWR of 18,001 lbs. or more. The employee must remain compliant with all relevant Department of Transportation regulations, including successful completion of a Road Test (unless a valid Commercial Driver’s License is held), current valid driver’s license, medical examiner’s certificate, and other documentation as applicable. The employee mustuco provide annual driver’s certification of violations, medical examiner’s certifications, and maintain a driving record acceptable to YNHHS. Special Skills rests Ability to perform routine computer access functions and data entry; operate material handling equipment; supervise large and diverse staff; complete projects related to distribution of supplies; planning, organizing, directing, and controlling workforce activities. Good communication skills and basic math skills required.
Physical Demand Requires lifting up to 50 lbs; pushing heavy rack trucks loaded with supplies; performing duties in confined spaces and to OSHA standards.
