SagamoreHill Broadcasting and WXSL are seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Producer to join St. Louis’ first Spanish-language newscast! The position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates closely with the News Director to develop newscasts and local programming
Ensures all news videos, scripts, and segments are organized and executed in the correct broadcast order
Gathers information and pitches story ideas to support the development of news content and scripts
Communicates effectively with the News Director, on-air talent, editors, and production staff to ensure cohesive coverage
Prepares and delivers in-house stories on-air as needed
Plays an active role in writing and editing newscasts
Writes stories, intros, leads, and related content for broadcast and digital platforms as required
Participates in daily editorial meetings and contributes to coverage and programming decisions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, television broadcasting or related field
Newsroom Experience
Demonstrates strong news judgment and editorial decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and writing skills in Spanish and English
The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment
Ability to participate in community and public events as requested by the station
Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
High ethical and journalistic standards
Able to meet tight deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Able to respond quickly and effectively to breaking news situations
Must be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending on news coverage when necessary
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must have a valid driver's license
Salary Range:
$40,000.00–$60,000.00
