Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Technology Manager to lead a team that maintains cloud infrastructure for global data center operations. The successful candidate will manage people, develop strategies, mentor engineers, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions that keep AWS Data Center Operations running at the highest level. The role involves hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and on‑call support in a 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.

Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operations professionals across multiple locations.

Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools.

Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

Oversee day‑to‑day data center operations, including queue management and shift arrangement.

Act as subject‑matter expert across all aspects of data center operations.

Measure and meet all operational KPIs and metrics.

Guide improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation.

Lead large scale events (outages) and serve as call leader.

Improve work‑flows and throughput for data center operations.

Document and enforce policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.

Coordinate on‑call schedule, absence, and vacation.

Continuously strive to improve customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.

2+ years of people management experience.

2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities or mission‑critical plants.

Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as required (over 50 miles or less than 50 miles).

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing.

Experience in technical writing and system management tools in client/server environments.

Certifications such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or similar.

Benefits and Compensation The base salary for this position ranges from $78,400.00 to $137,300.00 annually. In addition to salary, Amazon offers sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and more.
